## 1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. Other technologies do the same job, such as the browser’s local storage (localStorage), and this policy covers all of them.

Portuguese law (Article 5 of Law no. 41/2004 of 18 August) requires your prior consent to store or read information on your device, except where this is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for.

## 2. What this website uses, in short

**This website uses no advertising or social media cookies.** It uses two audience measurement tools, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, **only if you accept them** in the cookie notice; until you accept, or if you decline, neither is loaded and no measurement cookie is stored on your device. Fonts and images are served from our own server. Everything else stored on your device is strictly necessary, as described below.

## 3. What is stored on your device

**wc-cookies** (local storage, set by this website). Stores your answer to the cookie notice, so that you are not asked again on every page. It contains nothing that identifies you and is not sent to any server. It remains in your browser until you delete it. Strictly necessary.

**__cf_bm and cf_clearance** (cookies set by Cloudflare, the provider that protects the website). They are only set when the protection system needs to tell a person from an automated program. They last about 30 minutes. Strictly necessary for the security of the website.

**_ga and _ga_NMKMKMKHHS** (Google Analytics cookies, a service of Google Ireland Limited). They are only set after you accept measurement in the cookie notice. They tell one visitor from another and one visit from the next, so that we can count visits and pages viewed. They last up to 2 years. They are not strictly necessary: they depend on your consent.

**_clck, _clsk, CLID, MUID and other Microsoft Clarity cookies** (a service of Microsoft Corporation). They are only set after you accept measurement in the cookie notice. They recognise the browser across pages and visits, so that Clarity can reconstruct how each page is used. They last between 1 day and 1 year. They are not strictly necessary: they depend on your consent.

## 4. The film on the About page

The [About](https://wchampion.pt/sobre.html) page contains our company film, hosted on YouTube. Until you press the play button, the page makes no request to YouTube and stores nothing on your device.

When you press it, the film is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, a service of Google Ireland Limited. From that moment, Google may store or read information in your browser to play the film, under the [Google privacy policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy). If you would rather this did not happen, simply do not start the film.

## 5. The cookie notice

The notice shown on your first visit asks whether you accept audience measurement. If you choose “Accept”, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity start recording your visit. If you choose “Reject non-essential”, or do not answer, the website works in exactly the same way and measurement stays off.

You can review your choice at any time under “Cookie preferences”, in the footer of every page. If you withdraw your acceptance, measurement stops at that moment and the measurement cookies stored by this website are deleted from your browser; those Microsoft stores under its own domains (clarity.ms and bing.com) can be deleted in your browser settings.

Should we ever introduce another technology that requires consent, this policy will be updated beforehand, and that technology will only run once you accept it.

## 6. How to delete or block them

You can delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings, usually under privacy or browsing data. If you delete wc-cookies, the notice will appear again on your next visit. Blocking Cloudflare’s cookies may prevent access to the website while the protection is active.

## 7. More information
